WHAT REQUIREMENTS DO I NEED TO MEET TO HIRE A VAN?
The driver –
  • Must be aged between 25 and 70.
  • Must have held a valid UK licence for a minimum of two years.
  • Must not have had their licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years.
  • Must not have been involved in more than one fault incident in the last 3 years.
  • Must not have any more than 2 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.
  • Must not have obtained a BA, DD or UT conviction.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO HIRE A VAN?

There are a few things we need to see before we can hire to you. The driver must present a current UK Driving Licence and their National Insurance Number. We also require 2 forms of Address ID which clearly show the drivers name and address (that matches their licence) and must be dated within the last 3 months.

  • Bank Statement
  • Credit Card Statement
  • Utility Bill
  • Mortgage Statement

DO I NEED TO CARRY OUT ANY MAINTENANCE?

All our vans are thoroughly checked before they go on hire, but you do need to carry out basic checks such as oil, water, and tyre pressure for the duration of your hire.


WHAT IS THE RENTAL AGREEMENT?

This is simply the formal contract between you (the hirer of the vehicle) and us (the providers of the vehicle) which details all the terms of the arrangement and the condition of the vehicle.


WHAT DO I DO IF I LOSE THE KEYS?

Please contact us immediately. Keys are not covered by our insurance and you may be charged for replacing the keys, as well as any additional rental time you may need while waiting for replacements.


HOW MUCH IS IT TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL DRIVER ON?

The cost of an additional driver is £20 provided they have a full UK or EU licence and can provide their National Insurance number and 2 forms of address ID.


DO I NEED TO CLEAN THE VAN BEFORE RETURNING IT?

Please return the van the way you received it. We understand and expect that it will not be spotless but excess dirt or debris will incur a valet charge.


CAN I HIRE A DRIVER TOO?

Unfortunately, our vehicles are only offered as self-drive options without a hired driver. You can however ask a friend or family member to complete the required driver checks and can then drive the van for you.


IS FUEL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

No. You must return the van with at least the same amount of fuel that you received at the beginning of your hire.


DO YOU OFFER LONG TERM RENTALS?

Long term rentals can be arranged on a case-per-case basis, please contact us to arrange your rental and see what we have available.


DO I PAY FOR MY HIRE IN ADVANCE?

You can do this, using a debit or credit card on our website, or by giving us a call.


I RECEIVED A TRAFFIC VIOLATION OR PARKING TICKET WHILE USING THE VAN – WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

We would usually expect you to deal with the charges directly. However, if we receive a penalty notice or fine after the vehicle has been returned, this will be passed onto you, with an appropriate administration fee to cover our costs.


THE VEHICLE HAS SOME DAMAGE – WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Before you drive away with any vehicle, it will be inspected both by yourself and one of our team, and you will be provided with paperwork showing any existing scratches, marks, or dents. You must sign this document to show that you agree with our assessment. Our company prides itself on honesty and you will never be charged for any damage that occurred before you hired the vehicle.


WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE BROKEN DOWN, NEED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE OR MY HIRE VAN WON’T START?

We provide a fixed level of cover with the AA on every vehicle rental that will cover most emergency situations and breakdowns. The number you need to call is on your Rental Agreement and the vans key fob. You can also call us at the office for further assistance.


DO I HAVE A MILEAGE LIMIT?

Yes, every hire has a mileage limit of 200 miles per day. Every extra mile is charged at 20p. If you think your mileage will exceed our limit, please speak to us. We can arrange a mileage charge before you leave that will work out as a cheaper option.


IS THERE ANY FURTHER RESTRICTIONS I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

We do not allow the transport of pets or smoking in our vans, this will incur a valet charge on return. You cannot use our vans to tow another vehicle or trailer as this will void your insurance. Our insurance company do not cover multi-drops or contents left in our vans.
